At a time when new projects are struggling to source builders, one Gold Coast Developer is quietly advancing two residential projects, marking a topping out and a bottoming out in the same month.
Headed by renowned Gold Coast builder and developer John Kearney, Immerse Projects has poured the final level of Rhythm Kirra Hill, as it bottoms out the basement level on Ombré Robina.
Mr Kearney said pairing his development business with Greyburn Building Contractors‘ of which he is Managing Director, provided certainty of delivery.
“Rhythm has progressed significantly since construction began in mid-2023, and this week we reached a significant milestone, completing the topping out of the seven-level building as the interiors come together,” he said.
“We’ve withheld a small collection of two-bedroom apartments at Kirra Hill for a final release, and these apartments are now available as we prepare to welcome residents in March 2025.
“Further north in Robina, construction is also well underway on Ombré, where we recently completed the basement pour just as we pushed past more than 70% of apartments sold.”
“The remaining apartments at Ombré include a mix of large one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments which have already been popular with a wide range of buyers including downsizers, families, couples and singles.
“These projects are bringing much-needed housing supply to service a local Gold Coast market which has been overlooked in the recent push for luxury projects across this highly sought-after region.”
The boutique Rhythm development in Kirra will deliver 40 premium apartments across seven storeys, and Ombré in Robina will deliver 95 elevated apartment residences over eight storeys.
Mr Kearney said the success of their current portfolio was attributed to over 30 years of experience in the region, as well as local trades networks.
“In partnership with Greyburn Building Contractors, we are able to confidently manage risk and can draw on our quality locally based trades which specialise in the medium rise sector,” he said.
“We are sticking to what we know, specialising in the medium-rise residential sector, allowing us to create high-quality homes in a market of low supply.”
Buyers at Ombré share Mr Kearney’s sentiment, including downsizer David Chuter, who will move from a two-storey Robina home to a brand new three-bedroom apartment home at the nearby development. “There has been some bad press on developers lately but Immerse Projects has such a strong track record behind them, and combined with Greyburn’s construction experience on the Gold Coast, we got a real feel for their integrity,” Mr Chuter said.
“Ombré has really ticked every box, and we’re just blown away by the confidence we have in the project and the whole team working on it.”
