Cameron Starkey, owner of luxury Gold Coast building company Resort Homes, began his career in construction as a brickie’s labourer — a role he took on while studying Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Cameron’s studies ignited a passion that would shape his career, leading him to work for several renowned names in commercial building over the course of two decades.

Starting with a five-year cadetship at Barclay Mowlem, Cameron gained invaluable construction experience, climbing the ranks through a variety of different positions at Grocon and Laing O’Rourke before moving into project management and setting up Resort Homes in early 2018.

Today, Cameron lives and works on the northern end of Queensland’s Gold Coast. Now married with two young boys, he and his family love living in the area, enjoying nothing more than getting out on the water at the weekend. Cameron’s boat is berthed very close to home, so they can easily cruise down to beautiful Broadwater and spend their spare time relaxing and fishing.

Cameron is currently channelling his expertise into building the new luxury waterfront villas at Lakeside, the final precinct of the Serenity 4212 community. A joint venture by Keylin™ and Kinstone Group, the Lakeside residences are conveniently located just down the road from his home, making it easy to keep a close eye on quality and stay on top of progress.

Serenity 4212 offers the rare opportunity to live in a premium waterfront lifestyle precinct surrounded by nature.

“Anyone living in the Lakeside villas will be really spoilt,” Cameron said. “We’re just building the second storey now, and the amazing wide water views over Lake Serenity really make these homes stand out.”

Cameron believes the focus on indoor outdoor living, high end finishes, an entertainer’s kitchen, the option for a pool or pontoon and access to resort-style amenities delivers what clients want. He adds, “Keylin and Kinstone Group know exactly what makes clients happy. They truly understand that buyers want homes with open-plan layouts that flow from inside to out, as al fresco living is all part of the draw of living in Southeast Queensland, something my family and I love.”

Cameron expects to see busy times ahead for Resort Homes, which he puts down to ongoing interest from interstate clients, overseas migration trends, and the fast-approaching 2032 Olympic Games.

With their superb reputation and the ongoing demand for respected builders, we have no doubt that Resort Homes will continue to lead the pack in the Gold Coast luxury building industry as they bring these exciting new projects to life.
