Exciting news for future Lakeside residents! The much-anticipated Hope Island Station is well underway, bringing even better connections to the area. While construction means a little short-term disruption, the long-term benefits will be well worth it—think effortless train commutes, seamless travel options, and a growing sense of convenience and accessibility in this sought-after location.
What’s been happening?
🔹 Civil works are in full swing, with earthworks, drainage, and lighting going in for the new station carpark.
🔹 Platform and building construction is ramping up, with foundations, lifts, and stairs taking shape.
🔹 The kiss’n’ride and bus bay areas are coming together, making drop-offs and pickups a breeze when the station opens.
Rail works & path closures are coming soon.
To keep everything moving, some rail works will be happening overnight, which means late-night and weekend track closures on the following dates:
🔹 8-10 March
🔹 15-17 March
🔹 22-24 March
The northern pedestrian path near the Hope Island Road roundabout is closed until May 2025, but the opposite path is open for foot traffic.
Plan ahead & stay in the know!
If you’re catching public transport, give yourself a little extra time and check updates via the MyTranslink app or visit the TransLink website.
We know construction can be a hassle, but a brand-new station right on our doorstep? Absolutely worth it!
