Buying an off-the-plan apartment asks buyers to commit to something they can’t yet see.

For interior designer Cris Edwards of Mannigan Edwards, building that confidence starts long before buyers walk through a display suite. By the time they do, months of collaboration have already shaped every finish, every material and every detail they’ll experience.

Having worked alongside Immerse Projects and Greyburn Building Contractors across multiple developments, including Ombré Robina and, more recently, Kaiya Kirra Beach, Cris, as Director of Design, has become an integral part of a project team that continues to build on the trust and experience gained from one development to the next.

These long-term relationships are one of the team’s greatest strengths. Cris explained:

Plans, floorplans and renders all tell part of the story. But it’s when buyers step into the display suite that the vision behind the project comes to life. Exploring the material palette, running a hand across the stone benchtops or opening a kitchen drawer helps the project feel real for the very first time.

The conversations that follow go well beyond colours, finishes and furniture. They’re an opportunity to explain why particular materials have been selected, and how those decisions have been shaped through collaboration between the developer, architect, builder and interior designer.

While buyers may never hear what’s discussed behind the scenes, they do experience the outcome.

When the wider project team work towards the same vision from the outset, every part of the buyer experience feels connected, and every element reflects the same level of care – from the display suite and material selections right through to the finished home.

And those conversations continue long after the display suite opens. Cris regularly joins Immerse and Greyburn at open mornings, answering questions and helping buyers picture themselves living in their future home.

But the real measure of success comes much later. As Cris explains:

For the entire project team, that’s the ultimate reward. It’s the result of months – and often years – of collaboration, with everyone working towards the same outcome from the very beginning.

For buyers, that’s the difference. Long-term relationships create the trust to keep refining every detail, resulting in homes that don’t just reflect the original vision but exceed the expectations they had from the very moment they decided to purchase.
