Mount Coot-tha could become one of Brisbane’s most exciting lifestyle destinations, with a long-term master plan to transform the precinct into a world-class hub for eco-tourism, wellness, and recreation ahead of the 2032 Olympics.

The vision, outlined in a recent piece by Jeremy Pierce of The Courier Mail, highlights the area’s potential to attract both locals and visitors with enhanced trails, wellness experiences, and environmental initiatives, all just minutes from the CBD.

Here’s what’s being considered:

  • 170 km wilderness trail linking Mount Coot-tha to Mount Archer near Woodford
  • Upgraded botanic gardens and tropical dome
  • Tree-top canopy walks and lookout upgrades
  • Sound and light shows
  • New cycling loops, walking tracks, glamping sites, and picnic spots
  • Future quarry rehabilitation into green space

The award-winning Brisbane Sustainability Agency is spearheading the campaign, which is in its early stages. Nigel Chamier, chairman of the agency has stated that it would be “wonderful” for Mount Coot-tha to become the region’s No. 1 tourist destination.

For Oria Spring Hill residents, this would mean more than just a beautiful outlook. Whether it’s a weekend hike, an early morning cycle, or an evening at the Planetarium with the family, the potential transformation of Mount Coot-tha will add depth, value, and joy to everyday living.

And best of all? It’ll all be just a short drive from Oria’s front door.

Our display is now open for private appointments. If you’d like to explore the rooftop spaces and view the latest plans, we’d love to show you through.
